Las Vegas Officer Shot at Home in Robbery, Family Says He was Targeted

A Las Vegas police officer was wounded Friday afternoon in a shooting at home in what appears to be a robbery gone wrong. The officer's family said they believe he was targeted by the suspects.

The Las Vegas Metro Police Department said the officer, who has not been publicly identified, is recovering in the hospital after the incident.

In an interview on Saturday, the officer told 8 News Now he sustained two bullet wounds in the leg after two suspects attempted to rob his home.

8 News Now isn’t identifying the officer or their unit out of a request from the family.
