L.A. Sheriff's Deputy Faces 11 Rape, Bribery Felonies

A Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputy has been charged with 11 felony charges that he raped a woman and solicited bribes from her and other woman while on duty.

Deputy Jose Rigoberto Sanchez, a seven-year veteran, was taken into custody Monday at his home. The 28-year-old Sanchez remains in jail on nearly $1.5 million bail.

The charges stem from a stop on Sept. 22, 2010, when Sanchez allegedly offered not to arrest the woman in exchange for sex, reports the Los Angeles Daily News .
