The Los Angeles school police officer who staged a shooting hoax that resulted in a massive police manhunt in the San Fernando Valley was sentenced to five years in county jail today. He will likely serve a fraction of that time.
In a non-jury trial in September, L.A. County Superior Court Judge Richard N. Kirschner convicted Jeffrey Stenroos, 31, of several felonies and a misdemeanor charge including planting false evidence, insurance fraud and workers' compensation fraud, reports the Los Angeles Times.
