Kansas McDonald's Employee Accused of Putting Cleaner in Deputy's Drink

A Kansas McDonald's worker stands accused of allegedly putting a peroxide-based cleaner in an Allen County Sheriff's deputy's drink at the drive-through window.

According to Fox News , 22-year-old Trevor Hockaday has been charged with one count of aggravated battery of a law enforcement officer for the incident on September 12, 2018.

Allen County Sheriff Bryan Murphy told the Wichita Eagle that the deputy had displayed flu-like symptoms after consuming the beverage.

"He thought he caught the bug, but we found out two weeks later when an employee came forward and told the police department," Murphy said.

Under Kansas law, adulterating or contaminating "any food, raw agricultural commodity, beverage, drug, animal feed, plant or public water supply" is a felony.
