Kansas Department Partners with Local Artists to Create Community Mural

An area artist named Michael Toombs was chosen to lead the design. Toombs has been praised for other murals in the area, including a 130' x 30' mural located across the street from the Brown v. Board National Historic Site.

The Topeka (KS) Police Department will soon have its headquarters building adorned with a mural intended to build a bond between the community and the agency.

According to WIBW-TV , an area artist named Michael Toombs was chosen to lead the design. Toombs has been praised for other murals in the area, including a 130' x 30' mural located across the street from the Brown v. Board National Historic Site.

A team of local artists and volunteers will complete the mural. They hope to start painting in May.
