A judge has refused to lower the bond—set at $200,000 cash—for a truck driver accused of murder in the death of 32-year-old Detective Deidre Mengedoht with the Louisville (KY) Police Department who was killed in a fiery crash on an interstate highway on Monday.
According to WLKY-TV , Mengedoht was conducting a traffic stop when the truck crashed into her cruiser. The officer's cruiser then struck the truck that had pulled over and caught fire. Mengedoht was trapped inside her burning cruiser and died at the scene.
