An officer with the Iowa City (IA) Police Department was reportedly shot in the face with a BB gun Monday.

An officer with the Iowa City (IA) Police Department was reportedly shot in the face with a BB gun on Monday afternoon.

According to The Courier, the officer was able to return fire on the gunman, wounding him.

Both the officer and the offender were transported to a nearby hospital where they were listed in stable condition.

The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation is investigating the shooting.
