A Lyon County, IA, sheriff's deputy died Tuesday from injuries she suffered in a patrol vehicle crash on August 9.

"Deputy Schreurs sustained incapacitating injuries and was flown by air ambulance to Sioux Falls, SD, for injuries sustained in the accident.
"The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office is deeply saddened to report that in the early afternoon hours of August 13th, Deputy Schreurs succumbed to her injuries.
"The crash remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol. A technical collision investigation is being completed by the Iowa State Patrol."

The Lyon County Sheriff's Office said in a Facebook post: "In the early morning hours of Friday, August 9 the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single motor vehicle accident involving Deputy Stephanie Schreurs, a 24-year veteran.
