Indianapolis Officer Injured in Crash with Suspected Drunk Driver

An officer with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department was badly injured when an alleged drunk driver struck his patrol vehicle early Sunday morning.

The officer was in his patrol car when a Chevy Impala collided with his vehicle, sending the squad car careening into a utility pole.

According to RTV News , the driver of the Impala told responding officers that he had consumed alcoholic beverages just before the crash.

The officer is expected to make a full recovery.
