Indiana Officer Injured While Breaking up Drunken Brawl

A woman reportedly attacked an officer who was attempting to break up a fight between her and her boyfriend at a local motel in Michigan City (IN) late last week.

According to the La Porte County Herald-Argus , the woman—identified as Lakisha Peoples—and her boyfriend were severely intoxicated and arguing when police arrived at the scene.

Peoples was subdued by two officers and placed under arrest.

Peoples is facing a felony charge of battery against a public safety officer, and misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct and resisting law enforcement.

The officer suffered only minor injuries.
