The U.S. Senate voted 67-27 Monday to add a security provision to bipartisan immigration legislation that would add 20,000 Border Patrol agents and provide funding for additional fencing and surveillance technology.
Fifteen Republicans voted for the border security amendment, setting up a possible final Senate vote on the bill later in the week, reports The Hill . Supporters have hoped to get 70 votes for the legislation, which faces a more problematic road to passage in the House of Representatives.
