Illinois Officers Hospitalized Following Ammonia Leak

At least three law enforcement officers and as many as 11 firefighters are among 37 people hospitalized after an anhydrous ammonia leak in the Chicago suburb of Beach Park.

According to the Star-Tribune , the chemical leaked from a tractor-trailer truck in the very early hours on Thursday.

Seven of those hospitalized are listed in critical but stable condition—it is not immediately clear whether those in the worst condition are civilians or first responders.
