The founder of a non-profit foundation that trains police and military personnel in the St. Louis area found himself involved in some real-world law enforcement activity on Wednesday, as he maneuvered his vehicle to stop two women fleeing police on an area highway.

Keath Hausher was driving a pickup truck when the suspect vehicle was approaching from behind. He moved in such a way as to block their passing, and pursuing police were able to then take the women into custody.

"I heard the car impact two others behind me and so I just turned over to try and block them, try to stop them,” he told KTVI-TV News.

"Most people got out of the way like they should. I guess with my familiarity with that type of situation I felt pretty comfortable trying to do something about it," he said. "Police do this every single day. The attention I’m getting for this is kind of crazy but that’s what a policeman does every single day, put their life on the line and I wish they got more attention like I’m getting for this."

Hausher's foundation—The Patriot Training Foundation—is an all-volunteer organization that provides leadership, fitness, weapons, combatives, medical, water confidence, land navigation and tactical training to military and police personnel in the St. Louis area, according to its website.
