Getac has announced the launch of two new rugged field devices: the F120, the first fully rugged Copilot+ PC in a tablet form factor, and the V120, a rugged convertible laptop designed for field operations. Both devices succeed Getac’s F110 and V110 models and include updated hardware and connectivity features.
F120 Fully Rugged Tablet
The F120 meets Copilot+ PC requirements, including an NPU capable of 40+ TOPS, a minimum of 16GB RAM, and biometric security support. It is powered by an Intel Core Ultra 200V Series processor and Intel AI Boost NPU, offering up to 48 TOPS for AI tasks such as diagnostics, image processing, and real-time analytics. Options include up to 32GB of memory and 2TB SSD storage. Security features include Windows Hello facial recognition.
V120 Fully Rugged Laptop
The V120 builds on the V110 design with a convertible hinge for tablet-style use. It features an Intel Core Ultra 200H Series processor, integrated Intel Arc GPUs, and Intel Turbo Boost technology. The standard configuration includes 8GB DDR5 memory and 256GB SSD, with options up to 64GB RAM and 2TB SSD.
Displays and Form Factor
Both devices feature a larger 12.2-inch LumiBond display with Smart Touch. The F120 offers up to 1,200 nits brightness for outdoor use, while the V120 provides 1,000 nits. A narrow-bezel design reduces weight and bulk compared to previous models.
Connectivity and Durability
The F120 and V120 come equipped with Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and dual Thunderbolt 4 ports. The V120 can be configured with a third port. Connectivity options also include GPS, 4G LTE, and 5G Sub-6 with Dual SIM support. Both models use Getac’s hot-swappable battery system and support high-capacity battery options.
Security features include TPM 2.0, with optional Intel vPro, smart card reader, and Absolute Persistence. Both are MIL-STD-810H and IP66 certified, with operating ranges from -29°C to 63°C (-20°F to 145°F). The F120 is drop-resistant to 6 feet, while the V120 is drop-resistant to 4 feet.
Applications
Getac highlights the devices’ use across defense, utilities, automotive, and public safety sectors. Police and first responders can leverage features such as AI-supported applications and transcription tools for report writing in the field.
The F120 and V120 will be available in October. More information is available at www.getac.com.
