Investigator Taylor Bristow, 30, was shot in the head during the operation,

“Tonight, we mourn the passing of Investigator Bristow, who has left this earth and gained his heavenly wings. He served our community with unwavering passion and dedicated his life to protecting the citizens of Carroll County,” the sheriff's office said on
Facebook
. “We are deeply saddened and at a loss for words. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers, and kindly respect their privacy as they grieve this profound loss.”
On Tuesday morning, deputies went to a home in Carrollton to execute a search warrant for child exploitation material. The suspect, 40-year-old Christopher Bly, went back into the house after answering the door, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI).
“Bly produced a handgun and fired, striking himself and (Bristow),” the GBI said. Bly died at the scene.
