Garmont Tactical has launched the T8 Specter LE Zip, an 8-inch duty boot designed for law enforcement officers who require a lightweight, polishable boot offering impact protection, slip resistance, and all-day comfort. “The T8 Specter LE Zip was designed to meet the everyday needs of law enforcement professionals who require dependable performance without unnecessary weight,” said Kyle Ferdyn, sales manager at Garmont Tactical.

Designed to meet uniform requirements while performing under the demands of daily duty, the T8 Specter LE Zip blends a traditional law enforcement profile with modern performance features.

The boot incorporates D30 technology in the tongue and ankle areas to help absorb impact and enhance protection during extended wear and active field use.

Constructed with a 1.8 mm coated full-grain leather upper and breathable polyester inserts, the boot is designed to balance durability, ventilation, and comfort.

A polishable toe meets uniform standards for most departments, while an 8-inch height provides ankle support in a standard duty profile.

The double closure system combines traditional lacing with an interior side zipper and securing Velcro strap, allowing for quicker step-in and step-out while maintaining a secure fit. A mono-density EVA midsole and Garmont PU foam footbed provides cushioning for extended shifts, while the Garmont Traction Formula Magnet outsole is designed to improve stability and traction across urban surfaces and varied terrain.

The T8 Specter LE Zip meets EN ISO 20347:2024 and ASTM F2913-24 standards for slip resistance.

“By leveraging our experience in developing trusted military footwear, we were able to bring the same proven, mission-ready technologies to the law enforcement community,” Ferdyn said. “The result is a boot that delivers the traditional appearance officers need, while incorporating modern protection features like D30 technology and a lightweight platform that supports comfort and confidence throughout every shift.”

Garmont Tactical’s LE Footwear Lineup

The T8 Specter LE Zip expands Garmont Tactical’s growing law enforcement footwear lineup, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to designing boots purpose-built for police professionals and the operational demands of the job.
