According to Reuters, protesters—some in masks—were attempting to block the famous street to traffic after the roadway was reopened at the close of the parade.
The so-called "yellow vest" rioters hurled objects at the police and set trash bins on fire.
The rioters briefly dispersed, but regrouped and set up new makeshift barricades aimed at stopping traffic.
By the end of the incident, some 152 protesters were detained by police.
