Florida Officer Runs Over 2 People Lying on Dark Road to View Lunar Eclipse

An officer with the West Palm Beach (FL) Police Department accidentally struck two individuals who were lying on a darkened street in order to watch the recent lunar eclipse.

The officer was patrolling in a nature preserve travelling at a low rate of speed, according to WPBF-TV .

The two were reportedly transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The officer has been placed on paid administrative leave while the case is being investigated.
