FLEOA Responds to Armed Seizure of Federal Land in Oregon

In response to armed occupation of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Oregon, the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association (FLEOA) National President Nathan Catura issued the following statement:

"The illegal takeover of any federal property is a criminal act and all those involved should be arrested and federally prosecuted.

"The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service serves an important public purpose in the federal land management system and its conservation and protection of U.S. federal land presents agency employees and law enforcement officers with an inherently dangerous mission.

"Any individual or group who seeks to harass, intimidate, or interfere with any federal agency's lawful mission should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of federal law."
