FBI: Ted Bundy's DNA May Solve More Murders
Detectives in Tacoma, Wash., hope to solve the case of 8-year-old Ann Marie Burr, who disappeared from her house in 1961. Bundy, who was 14 at the time and living in Tacoma, denied responsibility for her disappearance.
A vial of Ted Bundy's blood may help investigators connect him to additional murders, including the disappearance of an 8-year-old girl in 1961 who may have been his first victim.
A DNA profile of Bundy was created from the blood and has been uploaded into the FBI's investigative database.
Detectives in Tacoma, Wash., hope to solve the case of 8-year-old Ann Marie Burr, who disappeared from her house in 1961. Bundy, who was 14 at the time and living in Tacoma, denied responsibility for her disappearance.
The blood was found in the evidence vault at the Columbia County, Fla., courthouse. It was taken in 1978 in connection with the death of 12-year-old Kimberly Leach in Lake City. Leach's murder was the third Bundy was convicted of.
