FBI Storm ‘Radio Silent’ Aircraft at JFK Airport

A JetBlue airliner with 160 people aboard had a radio malfunction, rendering communications between the crew and the tower impossible. The Los Angeles-bound flight was getting ready for takeoff when the radio problem occurred, prompting the automatic activation of counterterrorism response.
