FBI Director Says Last Year Cops Murdered at Rate of One Every Five Days

 

Interviewed on "60 Minutes" Sunday, FBI Director Christopher Wray said one law enforcement officer is being feloniously killed at a terrible rate.

"Violence against law enforcement in this country is one of the biggest phenomena that I think doesn't get enough attention. Last year, officers were being killed at a rate of almost one every five days," Wray told CBS News correspondent Scott Pelley.

Wray added that an "alarming percentage" of officers were being killed in ambushes. "Wearing the badge shouldn't make you a target," he said.
