Family of Accused Cop Killer Apologizes to Fallen Officer's Family
The family of the man accused of murdering Officer Michael Langsdorf of the North County Police Cooperative in Missouri sent a letter to news outlets over the weekend in which they expressed sorrow for the loss of life, as well as sympathy for the family left behind.

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the family of 26-year-old Bonette Kymbrelle Meeks offered their "deepest sympathy" for the death of Officer Langsdorf.
The family would like to express our deepest sympathy and send our condolences to the Michael Langsdorf children, parents, fiancee, family and friends,” the Meeks family said in a statement.
The statement continued, "We are (devastated) that Michael Langsdorf's family has to endure such heartache. We know there are no words that can change the outcome of what has happened. We will continue to pray that we all shall see light at the end of this darkened tunnel and God will continue to be a fence around us all."
The 40-year-old officer was fatally shot June 23 while answering a call about a bad check at a market in the St. Louis County town of Wellston.
Langsdorf is survived by his two children, a fiancée, and his parents.
