Estranged Son of Nashville Police Chief Wanted for Shooting Officers
He is wanted on two counts of attempted first degree murder and should be considered "armed and very dangerous," the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said.

La Vergne, Tennessee, police officers Ashely Boleyjack and Gregory Kern were shot and wounded Saturday. The suspect is the estranged son of Nashville's police chief.

He is wanted on two counts of attempted first degree murder and should be considered "armed and very dangerous," the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said. TBI issued a statewide Blue Alert for John C. Drake, Jr., and he has been added to their most wanted list, the Tennessean reports.
The shooting occurred at 2:23 p.m. Saturday in front of a Dollar General Store in La Vergne, a city located about 25 miles southeast of Nashville.
Officers were chasing a possible stolen vehicle, according to La Vergne Police Chief Christopher Moews.
The wounded officers were identified as Ashely Boleyjack and Gregory Kern .
Boleyjack was released Saturday night, a department spokesperson said, and Kern was released from the hospital Sunday
In a statement released by the City of Nashville, John Drake said he was "shocked and deeply saddened" to learn of the La Vergne incident.
