Deputies Return California Man's Prosthetic Leg Lost While Skydiving
Deputies with the Sonoma County (CA) Sheriff’s Office were pleased to deliver to a man his expensive prosthetic leg after he lost it while skydiving.
The agency posted to Facebook, "Great guy, full of humor who said he lost his first leg in a freak skydiving accident two years ago but that hasn’t held him back. He jokingly quipped that this was his second leg lost while skydiving."

Deputies with the Sonoma County (CA) Sheriff’s Office were pleased to deliver to a man his expensive prosthetic leg after he lost it while skydiving.
The leg had come off him at an altitude of 10,000 feet during a recent jump. The prosthesis was found in a lumber yard and the agency was called to the scene.
After speaking to some people at the nearby airport, deputies figured out an amputee lost his leg while skydiving the day before.
The agency posted to Facebook, saying, "Great guy, full of humor who said he lost his first leg in a freak skydiving accident two years ago but that hasn’t held him back. He jokingly quipped that this was his second leg lost while skydiving."
The post concluded, "He was thankful to get his $15k leg back and was even more thankful it didn't land on anyone or break anything. He promises to make a tether and learn from this but fully plans to stick with his passion. Good luck Dion! Great spirit!"
