Denver Settles Use-of-Force Claim From Nightclub Arrest

 

Denver has agreed to settle an claim brought by the son of a sheriff's deputy who said city officers used excessive force on him during an arrest outside a nightclub, ABC News reports.

Michael DeHerrera, 24, had claimed he was beaten unconscious during the April 2009 incident, after DeHerrera's friend used the ladies restroom and then got into a fight with a bouncer.

Officers arrested DeHerrera while he was calling his father, a deputy sheriff, for advice. The arrest was captured on dashboard video, as well as the city's H.A.L.O. municipal video surveillance cameras .
