A Milford, Connecticut, police officer was assaulted Saturday night while responding to complaints of a street takeover in a local shopping area.

The officer was reportedly punched and had objects thrown at his head. He suffered minor injuries and was treated and released at a local hospital, police said in a press release.
The officer's body camera footage has been released on the Milford PD's Facebook .
There were reportedly multiple vehicles and at least 100 spectators at the scene.
The crowd was setting off fireworks, including M-80s, some were thrown at the police vehicle, which was damaged.
