Conn. Law Blocks Release of Newtown Photos, Video

A new law blocking the release of photos and video from the crime scene of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting was signed into law by Connecticut's Gov. Dannel Malloy on Wednesday.

The law establishes an exception to the Freedom of Information Act specifically applying to the Newtown massacre that claimed the lives of 20 children. The bill stopped short of banning the release of 911 calls from the shooting, reports the Hartford Courant .

Gov. Malloy said the law protects the families of the Newtown victims, because it allows them to remember their loved ones as they were when still alive.
