Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy has warned state police leaders to be more selective when discussing the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown.

Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy has warned state police leaders to be more selective when discussing the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, reports the Associated Press.

Gov. Malloy's spokesman said Chief of Staff Mark Ojakian asked the Connecticut State Police to "take a deliberative approach" to discussing the case at law enforcement conferences. Col. Daniel Stebbins discussed the case earlier this year at a seminar in New Orleans.

Stebbins said shooter Adam Lanza had studied other mass slayings. At the time, Malloy said he was "disappointed and angered" that Stebbins "leaked" the information.

The state police have said they plan to release the full report on the shooting in the fall.
