Officer Stratton used some good old-fashioned police investigation skills to sleuth out the owner's last name, and then enlisted the assistance of a local jeweler to have the ring cleaned and polished.

The department said on its Facebook page , "The day after Christmas, the two met up. Nati was all smiles, couldn't wait to show his wife, and told Officer Dane the discovery couldn't have come at a better time in his life. Nati, we wish your family all the best!"
