A patrol deputy with the Larimer County (Colo.) Sheriff's Office has launched an effort to create a memorial license place that would honore fallen law enforcement officers, reports the Denver Post.
Deputy Basil Marciniak was inspired to create the plates, following the fatal shooting of Weld County Deputy Sheriff Sam Brownlee. Marciniak and the Colorado Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.) are obtaining the required 3,000 signatures needed for approval.
