Chicago Police Detain Reporters at Hospital

A photographer and reporter were arrested by Chicago police on Saturday as they tried to cover the shooting death of a 6-year-old girl. Hospital personnel claimed the media members were trespassing.

A photographer and reporter were detained by Chicago police on Saturday as they tried to cover the shooting death of a 6-year-old girl. She was being treated at Mt. Sinai Hospital.

Hospital security officers called police, saying the members of the media tried to trespass into a secure area of the hospital, reports NBC Chicago . The news crew claimed that they didn't go into the facility. At the time of their arrest, they were standing on the median of a public sidewalk.

Both were released and not charged with any crime.
