An officer with the Chicago Police Department had an accidental discharge of his service weapon on duty, suffering a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his buttocks or upper leg, according to officials.
According to ABC News , after the incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon the officer was transported to a nearby hospital where he was treated and listed in stable condition.
