Chicago Cop Saves Infant

A Chicago Police officer is being lauded for saving a 21-month-old boy on the Skyway Saturday by performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation after the infant stopped breathing.

Officer Edward Paukula has served with the agency for 17 years, according to an agency news release.

The baby was in the backseat of a vehicle traveling on the Skyway near 89th Street at 12:24 p.m. when family members noticed that the child was not breathing. The baby's father waved down a passing police car.
