The Cambridge Police Department has released CDs with audio clips of the initial 911 call and police radio transmissions preceding the arrest of black scholar Henry Louis Gates that sparked a national debate about racial profiling, the Boston Globe reports.

The police radio transmissions between a dispatcher and Sgt. James Crowley, who arrested Gates in his home following the report of a possible burglary, show the routine nature of the call.

The audio clips were released at a Monday presser and are available at the Boston Globe's website.
