A San Francisco judge sentenced a woman to six months of home detention and five years of probation Friday stemming from an attack that left a city parking control officer with a dislocated shoulder.

Lina Magailalio, 33, apologized to the victim, Angelina Barsi, before Superior Court Judge Jeff Ross sentenced her on assault and battery convictions. The judge also told her to attend anger classes and perform 200 hours of community service.

The attack angered the city's parking control officers, many of whom attended Magailalio's sentencing. They complain that they are too often the targets of angry motorists, and that threats and even assaults against them have become commonplace.

The incident happened Nov. 21, 2006, after Barsi wrote a parking ticket for Magailalio's car on Valencia Street outside St. Luke's Hospital. Magailalio was inside with her then-8-year-old son at a doctor's appointment.
