Officers with the Fresno (CA) Police Department arrested a 16-year-old who reportedly threatened in a post on social media to "shoot up" his high school.

According to KFSN-TV, investigators say a high school administrator alerted them that the teen—who has not been identified because he is a juvenile—posted an image of a student with a caption that said, "felt cute, might shoot up a school later."

Fresno Police Lt. Rob Beckwith said officers responded to the school before classes started, located the juvenile in question, and detained him without incident.

After a search of the teen's home, it was determined that the only weapons he had were a couple of pellet guns.

The student was booked into juvenile hall for making criminal threats, a felony in California.
