According to KABC-TV , officers from the Montclair (CA) Police Department were called to respond to reports that a man was throwing rocks at passing cars.

Officers arrived at the scene and the man threw at least one rock at their patrol vehicle.

The officers opened fire, striking the suspect, who was later transported to a hospital for treatment, officials said.

The man—who was suspected of assaulting an individual in their home earlier in the day—has not yet been identified. His condition was not immediately known.
