California Officer to Donate Bone Marrow to U.S. Marine

San Jose (CA) Police Officer Jesse Villaescusa is now preparing to donate his bone marrow in hopes of saving the life of a retired United States Marine, according to a report from NBC-TV Bay Area .

“It’s just another example of these officers stepping up and doing what they need to do for our community,” said San Jose Police Chief Eddie Garcia.

Officer Villaescusa hopes to draw attention to bone marrow donation, and he hopes more people sign up for the donation registry that matches patients in need with potential donors.
