OPD Spokesperson Johnna Watson said that Oakland Police officers attempted to try to get the door open to get the officer out they were not able to. The Oakland Fire Department extricated the officer from his vehicle.
The officer had responded to a call about a suspicious person in the area.
Police say the driver of the semi-truck and driver of the civilian vehicle were not injured.
