California Officer Helps Save Man's Life at NFL Game

An officer with the Oakland Police Department performed CPR on a man suffering a medical emergency in the parking lot of the Oakland Coliseum prior to the football game between the Raiders and the Denver Broncos Monday night.

An officer with the Oakland (CA) Police Department performed CPR on a man suffering a medical emergency in the parking lot of the Oakland Coliseum prior to the football game between the Raiders and the Denver Broncos on Monday night.

According to KRON-TV , Officer Daniel Mullens responded on his department-issued bicycle to a radio call of a man in medical distress shortly before the game was to begin.

Upon arrival at the scene, Mullens—a five-year veteran of the department who is also one of the lead first aid instructors for the agency—saw a civilian attempting CPR.

Mullens checked the victim's pulse and discovered none.

For 15 minutes, Mullens and other first responders continued CPR until the man's pulse returned.
