A California man who committed a string of offenses after celebrating his 19th birthday pleaded no contest during his court appearance last week.
On Dec. 6, Allen Grabovetsky pulled over a woman in Millbrae while driving his parents' teal pickup truck outfitted with with a siren and flashing lights. Here's the description from the San Francisco Chronicle of what ensued:
Grabovetsky told the woman that she was speeding "and asked for money to let her go," said District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe. The woman, suspecting it wasn't a real cop who had stopped her, asked for the ticket. Grabovetsky "let her go with a warning but demanded she call him 'officer,' " Wagstaffe said.
Grabovestsky then pulled over another car, tried to get a 15-year-old girl to get into his truck, tried to sell marijuana at a train platform, and sent threatening text messages to a friend.
