CA Officer and Wife Found Dead in Apparent Murder-Suicide

A rookie South Gate (CA) police officer and his wife were found shot at their condominium in Long Beach Tuesday night. Their deaths are being investigated as a possible murder-suicide.

Police were dispatched around 9:50 p.m. Monday to the residence on a possible domestic violence call, said Lt. David Faris of the Long Beach Police Department.

Arriving officers found the couple inside the residence, each with a single gunshot wound to the upper body, and a weapon was located. Their children — a toddler and an infant — were taken into protective custody, City News Service reports.
