Boston Officer Dies of COVID-19 Virus

An officer with the the Boston Police Department has died from the COVID-19 virus over the weekend.

According to WBUR Radio , this is the first reported death involving a BPD officer during the Coronavirus pandemic.

Officer Jose Fontanez was a 29-year veteran of the department, beginning his career in 1991.
