A Kentucky officer was saved by his ballistic vest Sunday when he was shot in the chest when officers approached a man, wanted on multiple warrants, after recognizing him at a park during an annual basketball tournament.
Louisville Metropolitan Police Department officers were working at the Dirt Bowl basketball tournament and recognized a man wanted on 12 outstanding warrants, reports WLKY . As officers approached, the man produced a gun and fired a shot that struck one of the officers in the chest.
