The Atlanta Police Department released dashcam and body-worn camera video of its Auto Crimes Enforcement (A.C.E.) Unit’s pursuit and apprehension of a woman suspected of an armed robbery. The woman fled in a vehicle and police used a PIT maneuver to thwart her getaway attempt.

The Atlanta Police Department released video, both dashcam and body-worn camera, showing when its officers located, pursued, and apprehended an armed robbery suspect following a PIT move to end the car chase.

According to the department, A.C.E. officers were assisting the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office in its attempts to locate a vehicle and a suspect in an armed robbery. The female suspect had robbed an elderly woman of her cell phone, according to the sheriff’s office.
When Atlanta officer located the suspect’s car parked in a carwash, the suspect reversed away from the officer and fled.
As the pursuit moved onto a highway, A.C.E. officers pursued and used a PIT maneuver to stop the car. When it came to rest against the median wall, the woman inside attempted to flee on foot but was quick apprehended.
