Arkansas Officer Turns 90, Becomes Oldest Officer in State
Officer Leonard Charles Smith of the Camden (AR) Police Department celebrated his 90th birthday last week. Better known as "L.C. Buckshot," Smith is now the oldest police officer in the state of Arkansas.
Officer Leonard Charles Smith of the Camden Police Department celebrated his 90th birthday last week. Better known as "L.C. Buckshot," Smith is now the oldest police officer in the state of Arkansas.
According to MyArklamiss.com, Smith spent 46 years with the Ouachita County Sheriff's Department. He worked in various roles before retiring in September 2010. Just four months later, he began working with the Camden Police Department.
Smith has worked in law enforcement for a total of 56 years.
Mayor Julian Lott declared May 12 as L.C. Buckshot day.
