Two Arizona DPS troopers sitting in an unmarked vehicle but in uniform were ambushed Thursday morning in Phoenix. Multiple rounds were fired at them from a rifle and both escaped injury. The 17-year-old suspected shooter is in custody. A second suspect is the subject of a manhunt.

The troopers got out of their vehicle and returned fire, department spokesman Bart Graves said. The driver fled, leaving the suspected shooter at the scene., according to AZCentral .
