Arizona Officer Injured in Traffic Collision

An officer with the Avondale (AZ) Police Department suffered non-life-threatening injuries in a traffic collision with another vehicle on Friday afternoon.

The department said in a statement that the officer was responding to a call for backup of another officer when the patrol vehicle struck another car.

According to KTAR News , the occupant of the other vehicle was unhurt, and the officer is expected to make a full recovery.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
