A Jefferson County, Ala., sheriff's deputy has died following an ATV crash last week,

Deputy Brad Perry died at 5:50 a.m. Monday at UAB Hospital. He was injured Dec. 3 and never regained consciousness following the accident nearly a week ago.
Perry, 42, and a female deputy were off duty and riding an ATV on a mine road off Mud Creek Road when the ATV hit a hole or ditch and flipped, Jefferson County sheriff's Chief Deputy Randy Christian said. Perry suffered a head injury. The female deputy was not hurt.
